Don't Forget - Government Apprenticeship Incentive Ends 31st January 2021
From August 2020 to January 2021 any employer who hires a new apprentice aged between 16-24 will receive a payment of £2,000. In addition, employers looking to hire apprentices between 25 and over will also receive £1,500. This payment is in addition to the existing £1,000 from the Government to help employers meet the needs of some groups of apprentices in the workplace.
Commenting on the government apprenticeship incentive scheme, Sally Lucas, Executive Director at Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training said: "Employers can apply for this incentive from 1 September 2020 and they can spend it on anything they need to support their organisation.
"At Chamber Training we are working closely with businesses across Coventry & Warwickshire to understand their business needs so that we can design apprenticeships which are tailored and relevant to them. Our team can also help them to source the most suitable applicants and deliver a plan of learning to meet their specific needs so they can help to make an impact on their future success.
"When taking on apprentices, we would also encourage businesses to consider hiring apprentices who have been made redundant during the pandemic. These apprentices already have valuable skills and experience, plus they qualify for the incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice too."
