Glenda's journey started with a five-year apprenticeship at various salons across Coventry. She worked hard and climbed the ranks, eventually earning her teaching degree. With her newfound knowledge and experience, she opened Blondies Salon in 1983. From humble beginnings, the salon quickly gained popularity, thanks to the exceptional skills of its stylists and welcoming atmosphere.

Over the years, Blondies faced many challenges, from economic downturns to a global pandemic. However, through it all, the salon remained committed to providing high-quality services, employing skilled and experienced staff, and creating a comfortable environment for its customers. Glenda attributes the salon's success to the support of her clients, staff, and her own perseverance.

Blondies have played a pivotal role in supporting the local community by working in partnership with Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce Training offering apprenticeships to many young people over the years. Through the YTS scheme and college trades, apprentices have gained the knowledge and experience needed to work in the hairdressing sector. In fact, some of Blondies' former apprentices have gone on to start their own salons, while others, like Becky, have stayed with the salon for over a decade.
