Thomas enters the world of Childcare
Thomas Easley works at Children’s World Pre-school, where he has worked for one and a half years, Thomas works with all the age groups within the pre-school which is 3 – 5. He enjoys working with children and has chosen this career as everyone he has met throughout his life has said that he is good with children. He feels that this is due to him having a lot of experience as he has a large family and has always been around children.
The childcare industry is rapidly growing and offers many opportunities. It is one of the most rewarding and satisfying areas to work in due to the responsibility and dedication that is required to achieve the high standards that are expected.
Thomas is really enjoying his Level 3 qualification and is progressing well with his training and also within his work setting. He was told previously that by another training provider that he would not be able to cope with completing his Level 3 Qualification but CWCT recognised his potential so is really pleased with his success.
In general childcare workers need to be able to be calm, friendly, helpful, organised and able to use their own initiative. They need to be hard workers, have the ability to learn varied tasks, be flexible and possess good communication skills.
