Business Administration Apprentice Career Flying At A Great Start!

Beginning a new apprenticeship can be both an exciting and overwhelming experience. For Daisy, who recently joined Direct Air as a Business Administration apprentice, the journey has been filled with learning opportunities and a warm welcome. Daisy is already feeling confident in navigating her new work environment. In this article, she shares her initial thoughts on her apprenticeship and the support she has received from both Direct Air and the Chamber Training.

About Direct Air

Direct Air, a leading provider of compressed air systems in the UK, is known for its commitment to supporting employee development through education and training. The company specialises in providing customised solutions across a wide range of industries, from design to installation and maintenance. Direct Air’s emphasis on fostering talent is demonstrated through their apprenticeship programmes, which offer a comprehensive and hands-on approach to learning, allowing individuals like Daisy to thrive.

Why Daisy Choose To Go Down The Apprenticeship Route

"I chose to do an apprenticeship as I wanted to be learning proactively, whilst working. This would provide me with experience that will further enhance my ‘on the job’ performance. The benefit of being in the workplace and at college is that I always have something to work towards, whether it’s attending college workshops or using a new system at work."

Daisy's Early Experience at Direct Air

“From being at Direct Air for over a month, I feel as though I have familiarised myself with the company, as well as the people, and have been able to navigate myself around quite easily. Everyone is very supportive, both people from the Chamber and Direct Air, are increasingly encouraging towards my ever-growing learning of business."

The hands-on nature of her apprenticeship has made a significant impact already. Daisy appreciates how the skills she is acquiring in the classroom at the Chamber are directly applicable in the workplace. “I am constantly learning on the job, as well as the skills I learn at the Chamber that I can instantaneously use in the work environment,” she shares.

Benefits of Working and Attending Chamber Training

Daisy says: "By attending both the workplace and college simultaneously, it will aid my skills in communication, organisational skills, and my overall confidence. This will be achieved through the preparation and presentation of projects, holding meetings, and talking to external stakeholders on the phone.

This apprenticeship will help benefit my career as it provides me with information from all aspects of how a company works, sales, marketing and even service, which I may not have received from other educational pathways."
