Management & Team Leading Levels 2, 3 & 5
These qualifications demonstrate that you have achieved a level of skill and competence in the area of management. They offer a flexible approach as your skills are recognised by assessment rather than examination and are an ideal route to career development, enhancing your CV, your expertise and your performance.
Each level consists of a number of units and credits of which there are mandatory and optional units chosen to reflect your job role. There are 40 credits required for Level 2, and 25 credits for Level 3 and 38 credits for Level 5. Each unit will vary in its complexity, required responsibility and autonomy of role. A sample of units includes:

- Planning, leading & implementing change
- Recruiting, selecting & keeping colleagues
- Building your organisation’s understanding of its market and customers
- Managing budgets

- Selecting information to make decisions
- Manage and support equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion
- Managing projects
Generally speaking, level 2 is designed for Team Leaders who are primarily concerned with motivating their team members and achieving agreed outputs, with limited authority for deploying resources. Level 3 is for first line Managers who have decision-making responsibilities within defined limits and wider responsibility for people and their performance. Level 5 is aimed at middle managers with a wider span of control, greater accountability for performance and responsibility for determining resource allocation and operational methods.
There are no formal entry requirements. However you must be working in a managerial or team leading role at the appropriate level, either full-time and part-time in order to generate the necessary evidence to prove competence. CWT will guide you on this.
Completion is anticipated within 9 – 12 months per level. The agreed number of visits will take place at your premises. You will be appointed a personal Assessor who will visit you in the workplace to assess progress on portfolio development and conduct observation sessions. Progress will be recorded at each visit. Guided discussion will be used to cover underpinning knowledge. Start dates are available throughout the year.
£850 (Chamber member) or £935 (non Chamber member) for level 2.
£950 (Chamber member) or £1045 (non Chamber member) for level 3.
£1100 (Chamber member) or £1210 (non Chamber member) for level 4. Prices are plus Awarding Body registration and certification costs and subject to VAT.
